the sky today over the sea
at Parsons beach was hazy
the lace of the plunging
waves scalloped table cloths
on porous sand
people tiny ants moving
the length of the foreshore
enter the European wasp
locating the food
in the pic-nic basket
this interloper is not
welcome and rejection
does not serve
to kill or not to kill
that is the question.....

ReplyDeleteI love lace of the plunging waves and the scalloped tablecloths - such rich imagery. This poem makes me want to go the beach and sit staring (without the wasps!)
